I feel like I am heading in a better direction than the last project, which is better than nothing in my mind. In this set of ten works, I incorporated a wide variety of materials. I also had a balance of wood-grain backgrounds and painted. In some instances, this worked, but others it just looked unfinished. In my favorite piece, with the turquoise shapes and colored wooden background, I think the wood background worked. Maybe it was the adding of chalk to give it a slight tint, or the composition, but most people agreed that out of the ten works, this was the strongest. It has a Native American vibe, and it is interesting composition wise. Others were interested in how I created the white and green cutout piece in the top left corner. From afar this piece works, but up close it has smudges and is lacking detail. But unlike in my summer work, my shapes stood out. From here, I hope to work bigger because we will have more time to focus on one specific piece.
